Ukraine asks for a NATO enforced no-fly zone

Extremely sincere request. Probably still not going to happen.

My guess for a “best case” ending to Russia’s invasion is:

a) Neutrality for Ukraine (no NATO),
b) UN-Russian-NATO peacekeepers & election monitors for referendums on:
Ukraine or not? In the three main areas of,
Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk

Putin has to “win” something in order to stop before winning.

NBC news has Zelenskyy’s address to the US Congress. On YouTube (Mar 16, 2022):

Heart wrenching, moving, sincere.

Idealistic yet somewhat pragmatic. New idea of a group of countries (U-24 ?) who are willing and able to provide military assistance, as well as other assistance, to any country which is invaded.

The reason for no NATO based no-fly zone remains relevant - NATO/ US is not shooting down Russian planes, nor being shot down by Russia. Less escalation based on losses.

Possibly for Zelenskyy, making this request makes it easier to get lots of other help, as well as more of the other help. It’s a PR stunt - yet it’s sincerity which is not faked.

There’s a guy thinking Russia is winning (Coach Red Pill), because the bombing around Kharkiv is getting closer (to him, there). He notes that the 60k Ukraine Army is near the Donbas region, and is now, perhaps, surrounded.

There’s another guy thinking Russia is losing because they’ve failed to secure air superiority, nor most of its city objectives, and its economy is under huge pressure.

War is hell.
But always more hellish for the loser.
